Hollywood calling: 4Soft films „MAGIC CPLACE MOBILE“
On the occasion of our partner collaboration Factory’s virtual cplace DIGITAL CONFERENCE, we had an eight-minute slot to fill with content on the topic of “Community Insights” on October 22, 2020. “We asked ourselves how we could best show in a short time what the new photo feature of the cplace mobile app can do in the context of business applications,” says Klaus Bergner, CEO of 4Soft GmbH.
“We found a conventional online presentation too dull and unimaginative. So we came up with the idea of shooting a colorful 4Soft short film as a team and having fun in the process.”
After all preparations were completed, the first clapperboard could fall.
Shooting a film is not part of a software developer’s everyday job. Nevertheless, we quickly found a team that wanted to tackle this challenge together.
Before we could start shooting, we first had to work out the script. Then the roles were cast (on a purely voluntary basis, of course!), and the first shot could be taken.
A particular challenge in times of pandemic was to make the shoot as safe as possible - even though the Munich Corona numbers were still reassuringly low on the day of the shoot. So we moved one scene outside and shot the indoor scenes with the windows open and drafts blowing through, as you can partly hear from the background noise.
Magical atmosphere with lots of glitter confetti
All participants were happy about the special day: “It was really a lot of fun. Above all, it was nice to work together creatively with colleagues in a different way. A nice change from the daily office routine,” said Thomas Machau, Consultant at 4Soft.
Michael Steinbüchler, software developer, is also enthusiastic: “I think it’s great that 4Soft is so open and also goes other ways to stand out. It doesn’t always have to be a PowerPoint presentation. The shooting day was huge fun - it makes you happy to be a part of this company.”

We had an all-around successful and fun day of shooting. And we think the cinematic result is something to be proud of: “It’s like magic …”
